Enjoy Antique Early 19’s Century Steam Train Travel in Solo

Today, Solo, Central Java, Indonesia has been transformed into a tourism town. The most notable tourism object is the antique early 19’s Dutch made steam train, which named “Sepur Kluthuk Jaladara”. This train has been established since 2009 by Solo’s Mayor, Joko Widodo to improve the tourism quality of the town.

The train consists of 2  antique wooden cars, which included antique javanese style herbal drink and snack seller inside the train. This train have 4 stop places such as; Mayor’s antique house “Loji Gandrung”, Randi Pustaka Museum, Danar Hadi Batik Museum, Sanggrah Station, and Purwosari Station. This nostalgic train only run when it rented, while not operating this train is stored at Purwosari Station Locomotive Depot.

You can enjoy this nostalgic steam train ride with Rp 3.75 million or around US$ 375 for 80 passengers and vice-versa trip. The most unique thing from this nostalgic train ride is, this train is moving on the city street. So, passenger can feel like they’re riding a tram.
